Stori's interface is divided into five main areas, each serving a specific purpose in your music creation workflow.

1ī¸âƒŖ Transport Bar (Top)

  • New/Open/Save - Project management
  • Project Info - Name, track count, tempo
  • Transport Controls - Play, stop, record
  • Time Display - Current position
  • CPU Meter - Processing load
  • Service Status - AI service indicators

2ī¸âƒŖ Timeline (Center Left)

  • Track Headers - Track controls on left
  • Timeline Ruler - Time markers
  • Track Lanes - Audio/MIDI regions
  • Playhead - Red vertical line
  • Cycle Region - Yellow loop area
  • Grid Background - Beat divisions

3ī¸âƒŖ Mixer Panel (Right)

  • Channel Strips - Per-track controls
  • Volume Faders - Level control
  • Pan Knobs - Stereo positioning
  • EQ Section - Hi/Mid/Lo controls
  • Insert Slots - Effects placement
  • Meters - Real-time level display

  • Region Tab - Selected region details
  • Chat Tab - AI assistant conversations
  • Visual Tab - Image generation
  • Track Properties - Track settings
  • Effect Parameters - When effect selected

  • Instruments Tab - 128 GM instruments
  • Patterns Tab - 300+ drum patterns
  • Effects Tab - Effect presets
  • Samples Tab - Audio files
  • Search - Quick filtering

  • Piano Roll/Score - MIDI note editing
  • Step Sequencer - Drum programming

  • Can be hidden/shown - Flexible workspace
Track Headers

Track Controls (Left Side)

Each track header contains all the essential controls for managing that track:

  • ✓ Track Number & Icon - Visual identification
  • ✓ Track Name - Double-click to rename
  • ✓ Track Color - Click to change color
  • ✓ Record Arm (●) - Enable recording
  • ✓ Mute (M) - Silence track
  • ✓ Solo (S) - Isolate track
  • ✓ Generate Button - AI music generation
  • ✓ Delete Button - Remove track

Timeline Ruler

Time Navigation

The timeline ruler shows time markers and provides navigation controls:

  • ✓ Time Markers - 0:00, 0:01, 0:02 format
  • ✓ Beat Divisions - Grid lines on beats/bars
  • ✓ Playhead - Red vertical line showing position
  • ✓ Click to Jump - Move playhead instantly
  • ✓ Cycle Region - Yellow area for looping
  • ✓ Zoom Controls - ⌘+ / ⌘- to zoom
Mixer Channel Strip

Professional Mixing Console

Each track has a complete channel strip in the mixer panel:

  • ✓ Track Selector - Blue dot when selected
  • ✓ EQ Section - Hi, Mid, Lo knobs
  • ✓ Insert Slots - 8 effect slots
  • ✓ Pan Knob - L/R positioning
  • ✓ Volume Fader - Vertical slider
  • ✓ Volume % - Numeric display
  • ✓ M/S/R Buttons - Mute, Solo, Record
  • ✓ Level Meter - Real-time audio level
